100 Demon Dialogues is a collection of comics which serves as a Handbook for Living with Your Inner Critic.
This may seem like an unusual tip, but I believe most of us occasionally have a demon to live with and argue against. Through Ruth Malan, I discovered the wonderful 100 Demon Dialogues. To quote Lucy Bellwood, the author:
100 Demon Dialogues is a collection of comics for anyone who deals with a little voice in their head that says “you’re no good.”
Whether you call it Imposter Syndrome, negative self-talk, the Fraud Police, or any other name, the fact remains: everyone experiences self-doubt and inner judgement at some point in their lives. 100 Demon Dialogues is a humorous, heartfelt book full of conversations between me and my pesky Inner Critic, all designed to demystify where this voice comes from and why on earth it’s so hard on us all.
Lucy drew 100 small demon cartoons in 100 days. Some of them are just funny, while others resonate on a very deep level. I’d advise you to take some time to look at the cartoons on her website, but not all at once—it can be overwhelming. I myself ordered a book and a plushie and will update this post with a photo as soon as they arrive. I'm looking forward to placing the book on my desk and browsing through it from time to time.
